CATHY TALBOYS Having practiced Taoist Qigong for 25 years I would like to offer an informal introduction to the principles and health benefits of Qigong.
Taoism states we are a microcosm of nature and the universe. Follow nature and you will be healthy. Go against it and you suffer
Qigong reflects this wisdom, by promoting the flow of Qi from nature to within and throughout our body improving co-ordination, flexibility, and circulation, benefitting all our bodily systems and organs
I will focus on the nature of Qi and show how and why through the practice of releasing old negative Qi, gathering fresh positive Qi and storing Qi we can monitor, channel and improve the vitality of our natural energy within our body and improve our overall wellbeing.
I will show you how and why gentle stretching and releasing, combined with deep relaxed breathing will encourage tensions deep in the body tissues to soften and release, allowing the body to accord to its own natural intelligence
